Polly founded Concerteenies in 2017 after struggling to find truly child-friendly live music events to attend with her first son. Concerteenies provides high quality opportunities connecting young children (0-5 years) and their communities with musicians and musical activities. Concert series, workshop projects and learning resources focus on providing quality entertainment opportunities alongside supporting children’s all-round learning and development (especially speech and language development and literacy).
Projects aim to support adults’ mental health, parent-child bonding and combat isolation of new parents, hard-to-reach families and the older generation. Projects often target children with special educational needs and disabilities as well as children with English as an additional language. We work in partnership with UK arts organisations and venues, libraries, galleries, museums and Music Hubs. Concerteenies has just won the Royal Philharmonic Society's 'Inspiration' 2020 award for innovative Lockdown work.
